I've Lost Momentum

Alright, I'm pulling the cat out of the bag. Not many people read this blog anyway.

For the back half of this year I have been working diligently to become a teacher. I wasn't an education major, but a communication major. I never landed a job that I wanted within the fields that I applied for, so I decided to switch gears.

I have been going through a certain district's alternative certification program and let me just say: it is rigorous.

Although the whole process has been hard, I still find time for myself and this blog. But sometimes I just don't feel like it. "It" being any and everything.

If anyone is actually keeping up with this blog, other than me, they will notice that I missed a few weeks of posting. I blame it on how much work and training I've had to do during this certification program, but I can't keep blaming my inconsistency on that.

Today is Thursday and I just started writing this blog post. Today I did not feel like writing anything at all. Today I had to force myself to open up my website and write.

I have been losing momentum and now I am here to talk about how I can potentially get it back.

Burnout

Honestly, I could just be experiencing burnout. I have been cramming my brain with a lot of knowledge trying to prepare for exams. I have already taken two 5-hour-long exams and passed them by the grace of God. Sadly, I still have two more to take.

The studying seems to never end. Nevertheless, I am indeed out of momentum.

Thankfully, that is one of the first things you can do to regain momentum: acknowledging that you're clean out of it.

Once you realize that you are running out of gas, what do you do? You fill up. Unless you want to be stranded in the middle of nowhere.

Visualize

As we simmer in our unmovable stability, the next thing to do is to ask ourselves the important questions.

What is our vision? What is the end goal, and more importantly, why do we want it?

I think I am at that stage right now. In fact, this weekend I will schedule some time aside for me to ask myself these important questions.

Reminiscence

These next couple of tips I had to research because I have to put them into practice myself. However, one source suggested to look back at your past accomplishments and connect that to your current burnout. How can you use that past achievement to kickstart your momentum?

I can see how that may help because you will be reminding yourself that you are capable of overcoming challenges and reaching new heights.

This reminds me of the scene from Moana when she was singing about remembering who she was and what she wanted in life. The song is called "I Am Moana" and is honestly one of my favorite moments in any Disney movie.

Seek Guidance

This is probably the most important tip that you can take away from this blog. Again, I will am not preaching. I need to listen to this piece of advice as well.

Finding someone that is doing the things that you are striving to do and asking them for help can benefit your progress tremendously. I have yet to find anyone in person that is actively writing a blog. However, when I do, I will definitely remain in contact with them.

I am starting to get tired of doing everything that I do alone. Applying this advice to my life is going to be much harder than me just writing about it. I know what type of person I am, and I will have to really put my pride aside and seek guidance..

I hope you all can do the same.

Until the next post my wonderful readers.
