What is Your Focal Point?

I feel like there are 50 million things going on in my life right now. Life can be a calm and smooth river that flows into a rushing and dangerous waterfall. Sometimes it can get extremely difficult to keep up with everything even when I update my schedules and plan out my days. It can seem like no matter how hard I try to keep everything under control, life can say "nope, you thought."
There is some beauty in that realization, but right now I am going to focus on the humbling aspect of that beauty. Spending so much time creating a game plan for your life is tiresome, yet fulfilling. However, sometimes life can turnaround and completely disregard everything you had planned. In that moment I feel the most out of control. I feel small.
Within that realization I begin to understand that no matter how hard I try things won't always go as planned, and that is okay. There is a greater power at hand forging the overarching story of my life. Sure, I can make my own missions and maybe some of them will follow through, but at the end of the day whatever was already destined to happen for me will happen regardless.
I try to remember this knowledge as I am juggling those "50 million things" in my life. This knowledge helps me to realize that there is no need to stress about plans going sideways or things turning out differently. Understanding that I am not the one in control, gives me a sense of security, which allows me to put focus on one thing a time. Turning those 50 million things into a figment of my own imagination. Just another deceiving feeling that my heart is trying to lure me into: anxiety.
What has been my focal point?
Now that I am able to distinguish who is in charge and who isn't, I can focus on one thing. Focal points can change as we progress through life. For now, my focal point has been working on ways to start my career. This hasn't been a Sunday evening drive. I am learning of my own distractions and the amount of concentration I need to become successful.
Focusing on this path for myself has been forcing me to become even more discipline. And I talk about that a lot on my blog, but I really want to emphasize that I am still on this self-improvement journey as I am writing this entries. This journey is ongoing.
Thankfully, I have good support system that continues to encourage me to keep going when times feel hopeless. I think it is important to surround yourself with helpful and encouraging people. Because we are not meant to do this life thing alone.
Having a point of focus in life is important because of so many distractions that come our way. We can easily get sidetracked by those distractions. Then the next thing we know, we are way off of the course we originally intended.
Having laser-eye focus is the goal. Life will always throw things at us, but as long as we can remember what we are doing everything for, we can always find our way back. I hope all of you readers remember to find your way back whenever you start to feel lost.
As always thank you for taking the time to read this blog post. My schedule is starting to pick up a lot, but I will continue to return here and share my thoughts and ideas to this wonderful audience.
Until the next post.
